A Family Business
LawnMate has been family owned and operated for over 60 years, spanning 3 generations. We know Northern Virginia and care about this community because we've grown and thrived in it.
Beginnings
LawnMate was started in 1965 by Ellsworth "Van" after retiring from the Air force, a veteran of WWII, Vietnam, and Korea.
A New Generation
In 1981 Jim purchased LawnMate from his father and turned it into the leading lawncare service in Norther Virginia, consistently ranked #1 by publishers like Consumer Reports.
Looking Forward
In 2023 Ryan and KC purchased LawnMate from their father, Jim. They are dedicated to continuing the legacy of quality and continuously improving the service for a new generation.
